A 35-year career in Canadian technology
Jamie began his career in telecom and software before moving into web hosting and cloud services. The companies he has founded have been ranked on the Globe and Mail's annual list of Canada's fastest-growing companies (formerly Profit Magazine) sixteen times, ten of them for HostPapa alone.
Founding HostPapa
Jamie founded HostPapa in 2006. Today it is one of Canada's leading independent web hosting and cloud services providers, with 750+ team members and millions of customers worldwide. Under his leadership, HostPapa built a core M&A capability, completing 20+ acquisitions since 2019, most notably the 2023 carve-out of Deluxe Corporation's web hosting and logo design business (NYSE: DLX) and the 2025 carve-out of CloudBlue from Ingram Micro (NYSE: INGM).
Building Managed.com
Jamie is now leading the launch of Managed.com, a platform for specialist brands: HostPapa, Hostopia, ColoCrossing, CloudBlue, and LogoMaker, brought together under one identity. Spanning AI, hosting, cloud infrastructure, productivity tools, security, and partner-channel services, Managed.com is powering how businesses build and grow in the AI era.
Beyond Managed.com
Alongside Managed.com, Jamie oversees a broader portfolio of operating businesses, real estate, and strategic investments, including OnePlan Business Centers, a flexible office and workspace provider he founded in 2015 serving small businesses across the Greater Toronto Area.
We started HostPapa to help small businesses succeed online, and that mission hasn't changed. But Managed.com isn't just HostPapa at a larger scale. With CloudBlue and the rest of our family of brands, we now bring together hosting, cloud infrastructure, and AI capabilities that go well beyond where we started. Each brand serves its own market today, and we're bringing their strengths closer together so businesses have more ways to build, operate, and grow in the AI era.
